Chickenpox or shingles will show up with this test. Both conditions are caused by the VZV (varicella-zoster virus) and are part of the herpes virus family. The Chickenpox virus remains in your body and can cause shingles later on in life. Your immune system will produce identifying antibodies, confirming the Chickenpox infection or vaccine. This test does not require fasting.
