Lyme Disease Test

Lyme Disease Test

Lyme disease is a bacterial infection brought on by the bite of an infected tick that carries the bacteria Borrelia burgdorferi. People who work in gardens, leafy outdoor areas, hike or camp, are ripe for tick bites. In most cases, for Lyme disease to be transmitted, the tick must be attached for 36 to 48 hours.

Lyme disease tests detect antibodies made by the body in response to infection.
