Cheryl Ward

Chief Operating Officer

Cheryl Ward is the current COO of Gordian Medical which includes the holdings of NextGen Laboratories and AMT. The former founder and CEO of Agape Medical Management, a health care consulting company, Cheryl has been a true business operator for the past 20 years. Prior to Agape, Cheryl's career included positions in finance, a Controller in the construction field and as a Business Management Consultant. Early in her career, Cheryl began teaching small business owners how to start and operate their businesses, imparting a key emphasis of time management and being task oriented. Her hands-on approach gives her the ability to both develop and implement systems and processes and to teach others how to do the same. Cheryl has become known for bridging the gap between providers and regulatory agencies. By distilling industry knowledge and tailoring unique solutions to customers’ current and future needs, Cheryl has helped companies overcome the regulatory challenges standing in the way of their success. Cheryl, adeptly applies these many years of experience to her critical role leading the NextGen and AMT teams.

Dr. Kim Janatpour, M.D.

Medical Director

Kim Janatpour, M.D., M.A., brings nearly 20 years of laboratory medicine and pathology experience to NextGen Laboratories. Having held numerous leadership roles in the industry, Dr. Janatpour did her pathology residency training at UC Davis Medical Center and completed a hematopathology fellowship at the same institution. She also holds a Master’s degree in Clinical Research and has an extensive background in hematopathology research. Dr. Janatpour is board certified by the American Board of Pathology in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology, and Hematopathology, and holds memberships in the American Society for Clinical Pathology, and the College of American Pathologists.

Bill Korslin

Chief Innovation Officer

As Chief Innovation Officer, Bill's responsibilities at AMT and NextGen include researching the current healthcare environment (eco-system), nurturing meaningful business relationships with key strategic channel partners and identifying opportunities for innovation and expansion into both existing and adjacent markets. Prior to joining AMT, Mr. Korslin held the positions of President, Chief Executive Officer, Chairman and founder of Centrad Healthcare, LLC, a $60 million revenue cycle management and billing solutions company that applied its expertise while providing specialty medical products including; enteral therapy, wound care, ostomy, urological, respiratory therapy, and other medical supplies & equipment to Long Term Care (LTC) and Homecare patients throughout the US.

William E. Gardner

Chief Compliance Officer

William Gardner joined NextGen Laboratories in January 2018, bringing with him more than 20 years of experience as a Regulatory Compliance Specialist. William E. Gardner is a California Clinical Laboratory Scientist and has owned and operated several CA Clinical Laboratories. Before joining NextGen he founded a laboratory consulting business, serving over 150 clients, specializing in assisting hospitals, independent laboratories, medical practices and pharmacies with regulatory problems. He is a qualified expert witness in CLIA Regulation and CA Lab Operations, and regularly provides expert testimony in various laboratory legal disputes. William has been trained and qualified as a sole neutral arbitrator by the American Arbitration Association. He has written and implemented compliance plans for clinical laboratories and small medical practices, serving as a compliance officer at laboratories performing clinical trials. He has been accepted by the HHS and OIG as the Independent Review Organization (IRO) for a laboratory under a Corporate Integrity Agreement for the entire five-year term of the agreement. William is a Board Member of the California Clinical Laboratory Association and a voting member of the California Clinical Laboratory Technology Advisory Committee (CLTAC). .

Claudia Muriel

Chief Business Officer

Chief Business Officer Claudia Muriel has over 25 years of healthcare experience in a variety of roles managing the growth for various sizes of organizations. Claudia has successfully led healthcare organizations with annual revenues from $3.5 million to $1.2 billion through improved performance, increasing enterprise value and reducing exposure to liabilities. Her experience includes working with senior leadership of Fortune 500 companies to drive the corporate change process and providing multi-project leadership of strategic initiatives that resulted in greater efficiency and profitability. Claudia held positions as Vice President of Reimbursement Operations for Apria Healthcare, Senior Director of Process and Business Transformation for Pacific Pulmonary Services, Director of Reimbursement for Specialty Pharmacy and Air Products Healthcare at CVS/Caremark where she held a number of positions including Regional Vice President of Operations, Executive Vice President of Respiratory Services. Prior to joining NextGen, Claudia was co-founder and Managing Partner of Insurgence, LLC, a healthcare consulting company and was also founder and CEO of Oxysound Home Health Services. Claudia is a graduate of University of Illinois at Chicago, received her MBA in Finance and Health Services Management from Keller Graduate School of Management. She holds certifications as a lean/sigma black belt as well as in project management methodologies, and has also served on various Boards and Committees.

Mitra Tarr

Director of Laboratory Services

Mitra Tarr, MS, MBA, CLS, MT (ASCP) as a licensed medical scientist and manager, brings 35 years of laboratory medicine experience to NextGen Laboratories. For the past 27 years she has held numerous leadership roles in various sized medical centers and reference laboratories, and served as manager and director of laboratory/pathology. She has served as a CAP inspector, technical expert and consultant for the past 10 years. Mitra holds a Master’s degree in Science, as well as a Master’s degree in Business Administration. Mitra is board certified by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists and by California Department of Health as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist, and holds memberships in the American Society for Clinical Pathology and is a certified inspector with the College of American Pathologists.

Jeremy White

General Counsel

General Counsel Jeremy White has worked extensively in the field of health law for over 15 years, including serving in similar capacities for large medical equipment suppliers and pharmaceutical companies throughout the United States. Jeremy earned his Juris Doctor from Elon University and his Bachelor's degree from the University of California at Los Angeles. He has been admitted to the Bars of California and North Carolina, and is a member of the American Health Lawyers Association.

Dawn Neisius

Chief of Staff

As Chief of Staff for the Gordian Medical Group, Dawn Neisius possesses over 15 years of experience in the medical and healthcare fields. Dawn is a key part of the AMT/NextGen Executive Leadership Team and works closely with the NextGen COO and CEO to ensure the lab is compliant, fiscally responsible and maintaining a corporate culture of respect, professionalism, transparency and responsibility. Dawn has worked in numerous operational rolls across several industries. Prior to her current role with NextGen, Dawn worked with a healthcare regulatory compliance consulting firm for several years specializing in licensure, certification and accreditation for Durable Medical Equipment and Pharmacy providers. Her responsibilities included managing Operations, Human Resources and Accounting while maintaining customer relations for hundreds of consulting clients. Dawn's experience working in several fields of business and being involved in health care in every aspect from First Responder to Hospital settings to Home Health and DME/Pharmacy Consulting give her a unique perspective on the intricate operations of NextGen Laboratories.

Wendy Maurer

Vice President of Business Development

Vice President of Business Development Wendy Maurer possesses over 20 years of experience in sales and marketing within a variety of organizations. Wendy comes to NextGen through the addiction treatment field, where she owned her own consultancy. She found herself drawn to this field due to her love for people and social justice interests. In addition to healthcare experience, Wendy has a deep background in corporate sales culture and enterprise level business development. Wendy is a connector with the truly unique ability to uncover, create and foster opportunities that grow business. Wendy also volunteers her time in the community and sits on several non-profit boards focusing on women's and environmental causes specifically. She holds a Bachelor's degree in psychology from San Francisco State University.

James Holloway

Vice President of Sales

James Holloway comes to NextGenLabs with over 23 years of experience in the Bio-pharmaceutical area, as well as a diverse background and skillset. He began his career with GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) in the Finance Department, which led to the position of Senior Financial Director for the Cardiovascular Business Unit. James transitioned from Finance to various Sales and Marketing roles, before moving to Fresno, CA as the Senior District Sales Manager. He has also held leadership roles as a Regional Sales Director, Area Sales Director and National Sales Director. Most recently, James worked as the National Sales Director, for a genetics laboratory located in Southern California where he was responsible for the complete build out of their Women’s Health Division, along with Sales Training and Operations. James holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Finance from the University of Pennsylvania, in addition to a Master of Business Administration in International Marketing from California State University - Fresno. James’ commercial experience, launch experience, coupled with his Finance and Marketing background will benefit our efforts to build a world-class sales organization that is patient focused and results-oriented..

Todd Mittleman

Director of R&D and Clinical Education

Todd Mittleman, M.A. leads the development of NGL's pipeline of advanced diagnostic tests across the product life-cycle from concept to market launch. Previous to NextGen Labs, Todd was with the Mind Research Network (MRN) where, as Business Development Director, he leveraged MRN's capabilities in neuroimaging, genetics and bioinformatics to secure funding from biotech and government agencies for drug development and point-of-care neurotechnology applications. He brings with him over 15 years of experience working with R&D and clinical research teams to bring advanced and personalized medicine and genetic testing technologies to market, and is leading the current expansion into next generation sequencing (NGS) and rapid infectious disease diagnostic tests capable of identifying antibiotic resistance markers in both common and rare infections. Projects in development include expanding NGL's bioinformatics capabilities, NGS oncology testing, and continuing to develop programs in education and training for sales teams and clinicians.

Suzanne Schuler

Director of Operations

Director of Operations, Suzanne Schuler has over 25 years experience in healthcare operations in a wide range of settings. Suzanne’s professional background includes Infusion Pharmacy, Home Health, Hospice, DME and Behavioral Health. Prior to joining NextGen, Suzanne was the co-founder and managing parter of Insurgence LLC, a healthcare consultancy. Suzanne has also worked as Director of RCM for Solid Landings, a Behavioral Health Provider. Her healthcare background also includes management of an Infusion Pharmacy for 5 years serving as General Manager of a Walgreens Branch Office. Suzanne also held the roles of National Director of RCM for Pacific Pulmonary, and Senior Manager for Apria Healthcare on the Vendor Management Team combined. As a critical player in the business operations and part of the executive team, Suzanne's past experience with full responsibility for Operations, Sales and Reimbursement as well as Local Contracting is a valuable and necessary addition to the smooth and professional operations of NextGen.

Harir Mahram

Lead Clinical Laboratory Specialist

Harir Mahram, M.S., is a generalist and cytogenetics CLS in the state of CA, and holds a bachelor’s degree in Microbiology and a master’s degree in Virology. She brings a diverse set of skills and expertise to the Nextgen team through her 12 years of experience in the medical device and clinical laboratory industries. Harir has played a role as technical support professional in a diagnostics laboratory manufacturing FDA-approved kits for diagnosis of infectious disease where she engaged in various troubleshooting and process improvement projects. She has worked as Clinical Laboratory Scientist in the fields of hematology/Oncology and Toxicology. She has held a previous role as the general laboratory supervise in a toxicology lab where she helped bring the lab in compliance to CAP guidelines and significantly contributed to the TAT improvement and workflow optimization. Harir strongly believes in and promotes teamwork where problems are resolved through efficient collaboration. She is a creative problem solver and perceives the challenges of difficult situations as opportunities for growth and improvement for the team. Harir is very passionate about the patient and client care and plays a key role in supporting the smooth performance of daily laboratory activities..

Sidney Felczer

Director of Information Technology

Sidney Felczer has over 20 years in the information technology field. He has been with the AMT/NextGen since 2008. Sid graduated from California Polytechnic University, San Luis Obispo with a Bachelor's of Science in Business with a focus in Information Systems. Prior to joining AMT/NextGen, Sid ran his own technology business for 12 years providing IT support for small businesses around the Southern California area.
